Data Entrée Laptop Software is the disconnected solution for salespeople in the field. Salespeople can take orders on-site with the customer or anywhere they take their laptop, and then transmit orders later in batches anywhere they have access to an internet connection.

Order Entry Form

While taking orders, they can check inventory availability and pricing, and view the customer's A/R aging, credit terms, and other useful account information. They can see cost information and the gross-profit percentage for each item as quantities are entered and prices changed. They can enter a desired GP% for an item and let the software calculate the price, and they can view the last price paid by the customer for the item and select that as the current price with the click of a button. A visual cue tells them immediately if a price they have entered is at or below cost.


They can pre-populate an order with all items in the customer's profile by clicking a button and then select items for the current order by entering quantities, they can manually key in the items using the item number, or they can search for items using any part of the item description.


As items are added, coded fields display the gross-profit percentage and gross-profit dollars for the invoice as a whole, so the salesperson can track the running totals without exposing that information to the customer.


Inventory on-hand levels are displayed for each item, along with the quantity, date and price for the last purchase of that item by the customer. Displayed items are color-coded as a quick visual indicator of how long it has been since the customer last bought the item, cueing the salesperson to ask about the item when a length of time has passed since it was last purchased.


A salesperson can make changes to the customer profile and upload those changes with his orders. When uploading his orders, the salesperson can choose to omit selected invoices from the upload if he wants to transmit them later, and then transmit the rest of the orders with the single click of a button. Downloading the latest profile, pricing, and inventory information is also a one-click process. Uploads and downloads can be done at any time using any internet connection.


Data Entrée uses the latest in Microsoft Web Service technologies and the transfer of information is very fast even over most dial-up connections.


Customer order guides can be printed from the laptop or displayed onscreen.


The salesperson can configure his laptop to retain local copies of transmitted invoices for any length of time so that he can review them later.


After a salesperson has transmitted his orders, designated users in the office will be alerted that remote orders have arrived. Those users can then review the orders and process them with a single button-click, at which point the orders take their place next to any other open orders in the central database.
