John Winner, founder of Data Entrée, Inc., has been invited by JS West to join them at the ADD Systems 2011 User Conference in Orlando, FL.

John will be assisting Josh Steeley, IT Manager at JS West, in making a presentation on how JS West, using software developed by Data Entrée, has implemented the Smart Connect API provided by ADD Systems to create an online portal and an iPhone application for their customers, and integrated the WESROC tank monitoring system with Energy E3.

Data Entrée has completed the project of developing the customer-portal application for the new JS West website (jswest.com).

The project is for JS West's propane division.  It was a complex project involving integration with other software products and other web designers.  We implemented an online customer interface that allows JS West customers to view account information, view statements, make payments, order products and services, and search for the nearest store locations.

Beginning in September 2009 Data Entrée began field testing our new production/processing module at a local meat processing company. Our Production System is an add-on application that integrates directly with our Distribution Software and is designed to track inventory through the production process. Using touch-screen monitors, plant and production staff can transfer raw materials from inventory into the production process. After the production process is complete, finished goods are entered and transfered out of the production process.

An interesting article in the Washington Post today about efforts by the federal government to enhance monitoring of the nation's food supply:

The nation's complex food supply chain would become more transparent, inspections of food facilities would become more frequent and manufacturers would be required to take steps aimed at preventing food-borne illnesses under legislation proposed yesterday by key House leaders who have pledged to modernize the food safety system.

Data Entrée has begun deploying an update that gives our clients the ability to report their monthly purchases to Unipro Foodservice, Inc., in the required format, over the internet, at the push of a button. We had previously provided similar functionality for Pocahontas distributors, and now that Pocahontas has been bought by UniPro, we moved quickly to provide the same reporting capabilities in accordance with UniPro's specifications.
